Effective
Cancellations & refunds
Toah Ventures is a UK sole trader providing one-off landing pages, business websites and full-stack development. This policy explains how to cancel these services and how refunds are calculated.
Your quote and project agreement
Before work begins, we agree the scope, total quote in GBP, deliverables, milestones, payment stages and delivery plan in writing. Website starting prices are not a binding scope for unlimited work. Changes to the agreed project are handled as set out below.
These are individually quoted services, not physical goods or subscriptions. This website does not take payments, and reviewing an enquiry does not place an order or create a contract.
How to cancel
Send a clear cancellation notice by email to info@toahventures.co.uk or by post to Toah Ventures, Business address: Suite 121, 21 Botanic Ave, Belfast, BT7 1JJ. Give your name, your project reference if known, and a clear instruction that you wish to cancel.
No special form, reason or identity-document upload is required. You may copy the optional model cancellation form below. An acknowledgement from us is not a condition of timely cancellation. For a statutory cooling-off cancellation, sending your clear notice before the cancellation period ends is sufficient.
Before work starts
If you cancel before work starts, we refund all project payments in full. There are no automatically non-refundable deposits and no payment-processing fee deductions.
After work starts
We stop further work when we receive your cancellation notice. For business contracts, or a cancellation outside the statutory cooling-off period, we charge only for agreed work actually completed before notice and separately authorised, unavoidable third-party costs already incurred. Third-party costs count only if agreed in advance and not recoverable.
We provide an itemised calculation, do not double charge, keep the total within the agreed contract price and refund unused advance payments. There is no charge for unperformed work or an automatic whole-contract cancellation penalty. The consumer rights below take priority over these arrangements and any third-party charges.
Consumers and the 14-day cooling-off period
You are a consumer if you buy wholly or mainly for purposes outside your business, trade, craft or profession. If you enter a service contract at a distance, such as by email, you have the right to cancel without giving a reason within 14 days after the day the contract is made. Applicable off-premises service contracts also carry statutory cancellation rights.
Bespoke website services are not automatically exempt as custom-made goods or digital downloads. If required cancellation information is not provided, the cancellation period may be extended by law. Statutory cancellation rights override any conflicting clause in this policy or your quote.
Starting work during the cooling-off period
We normally wait until the cooling-off period has ended before starting. We start earlier only if you expressly request it, recorded in writing, after receiving the required cancellation and payment information.
If you cancel during that period, a proportionate payment for services supplied is due only where the law permits, you expressly requested the early start and you received the required information. It reflects what was actually supplied compared with the whole service, based on the agreed total price or market value if that price is excessive. No such charge is due if these conditions were not met.
You lose the statutory right to cancel only after the service has been fully performed, with your prior express consent to early performance and acknowledgement that the right is lost on full performance. Starting work alone does not remove your right. Completion or acceptance does not remove other statutory remedies.
If we cancel and cannot deliver
We tell you promptly, stop further work and provide an itemised calculation. We refund the unperformed or undelivered portion without a cancellation penalty to you. We retain payment only for agreed work already delivered that has usable value, subject to consumer rights. If our failure means no usable agreed service has been delivered, we refund the project payments in full.
Problems with the service
Contact us using the email or business address below and describe the issue. We seek to correct work that does not meet the agreed scope. Consumers retain their rights to reasonable care and skill, repeat performance and an appropriate price reduction or refund where applicable.
Agreed revision limits do not restrict remedies for a breach of contract or statutory faults. There is no blanket exclusion of refunds after acceptance or completion.
Refund timing and method
Amounts owed are refunded without undue delay and within 14 days of the cancellation notice, including notice from us if we cancel. For a service-remedy refund, we refund without undue delay and within 14 days of agreeing that refund.
We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. We charge no refund, administration or payment-processing fees. Bank or card posting times are outside our control.
Scope changes and completed services
We document and agree changes to scope, price and delivery separately before extra work starts. We do not increase fees unilaterally. A completed service is not automatically refundable solely because you change your mind after statutory cancellation rights have ended, but rights and remedies for faulty services, breach of contract or other legal grounds remain intact.
Optional model cancellation form
Use this only if you wish to cancel. You can select and copy it into an email or print it and post it. A clear cancellation notice in your own words is equally valid.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy or a project agreement excludes, restricts or replaces mandatory consumer rights or remedies under applicable law, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where those rights provide greater protection, they take priority over all other clauses.
